Moonshot Flanders Call 2026

Moonshot Flanders has officially launched its Call 2026, inviting research and knowledge institutes to submit new project ideas that help Flemish industry drastically reduce CO2 emissions. We have now entered the ‘LOI phase’ in which companies have the opportunity to express their interest in closely following these innovation projects. All practical information and templates for Call 2026 are available on this page.

Moonshot Call 2026

Program Overview

For each research Path, the Call document provides a clear and inspiring overview of the program, its ambitions, its key challenges, and promising research areas guiding you toward opportunities for high-impact innovation. Building on discussions within the Moonshot Scientific Advisory Board and the Moonshot Governance Board, it also includes a list of requirements to support you in shaping a strong proposal. These insights draw on the updated context study (top-down approach) as well as an analysis of the current Moonshot portfolio and results, helping to identify gaps and further refine priority topics. A comprehensive description of all program details and focus areas can be found in the Call document below.

Guidelines & Templates

The proposal templates for both Early Stage Innovation (ESI) and Later Stage Innovation (LSI) projects, along with the Call 2026 document, are available at the bottom of this page. These resources ensure you have all the necessary tools to prepare your submission.

Priority for LSI Projects

In 2026, the Moonshot program will support breakthrough innovations with a total budget of €15 million (compared to €20 million last year). Within this budget, €5 million is reserved as a dedicated priority budget for LSI projects, applying an approach similar to the 2025 Call. As before, LSI proposals will first be evaluated within this dedicated budget, after which any remaining LSI proposals will be assessed together with the ESI proposals.

Company involvement

Companies can express their interest in one or more projects by submitting a Letter of Intent (LOI). An LOI allows companies to participate in Moonshot’s industrial Advisory Boards, follow project progress closely, provide industrial input to help guide the research, discover innovative technologies, and identify potential future business opportunities. LOIs can be submitted by e‑mail to moonshotatcatalisti.be (moonshot[at]catalisti[dot]be), preferably by Friday, 5 June 2026. The final deadline for submission is Tuesday, 1 September 2026. The LOI templates can be downloaded below.
